Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs) are becoming more widely available in public areas and workplaces and the survival rate for casualties suffering cardiac arrest dramatically increases if an AED is available and there are qualified personnel to use it.
The qualification is primarily for learners who have a responsibility at work or are involved in voluntary and community activities having access to an AED.
The learner will gain the knowledge and skills to be able to recognise and treat both adults and children who have suffered cardiac arrest and to respond quickly, calmly and confidently.
Detailed information can be found in the Qualification Specification including the qualification structure and codes, entry requirements, qualification delivery, certification and requalification, Learning Outcomes and Assessment Criteria and assessment information.
